The Yaskawa SGM7A-04AFA21 is a 400 W Sigma-7 low-inertia rotary servo motor with a straight output shaft without a keyway. It is designed for precision motion axes that use clamping, compression or shrink-fit coupling systems.

The motor provides a rated torque of 1.27 Nm at 3000 RPM and supports a maximum motor speed of 6000 RPM. It incorporates a 24-bit incremental serial encoder and is supplied without a holding brake or oil seal.

Maintenance and Replacement Notes

The output shaft does not include a keyway. Confirm that the installed coupling is designed for a plain shaft and provides sufficient clamping force without damaging or distorting the shaft.

Do not directly substitute the keyed-shaft SGM7A-04AFA61 without checking the coupling, shaft engagement and mechanical assembly. Verify the complete suffix, encoder, flange, connectors, SERVOPACK, firmware, motor parameter file and cable set.

This model does not include a holding brake. Vertical axes and suspended loads require a separate mechanical holding system.
