Encoder and Brake Notes

The M1 feedback system is an optical multiturn absolute encoder using the Hiperface interface. The drive and encoder cable must support M1 communication. This feedback configuration is useful when the controller requires absolute position information across multiple revolutions.

Brake option 1 is an electrically released holding brake. It is intended to hold a stationary axis after controlled stopping. It must not be used as a regular dynamic service brake or personnel-safety brake. Brake voltage, wiring and controller timing must be checked during commissioning.

The plain shaft requires a suitable clamping coupling. The coupling must be correctly aligned and selected for the required torque and operating speed.
