The Schneider TM251MESC is a high-performance Modicon M251 logic controller designed for modular machines, distributed I/O architectures and industrial systems requiring Ethernet, CANopen and serial communication.
The controller operates from a 24 VDC power supply and does not include embedded local digital or analog I/O. Machine inputs and outputs are normally provided through compatible TM3 expansion modules, distributed I/O devices or network-connected equipment.
The embedded CANopen master is the primary functional difference between the TM251MESC and the Ethernet-centric TM251MESE. It allows the controller to coordinate compatible servo drives, variable speed drives, remote I/O devices and other CANopen nodes within a machine network.

The TM251MESC is suitable for packaging machinery, conveyors, material-handling equipment, assembly systems, robotics auxiliaries, process machines and distributed OEM machine architectures.
The embedded CANopen master can be used with compatible servo drives, variable speed drives, remote I/O stations and other CANopen devices. The complete CANopen network must be verified, including node addresses, baud rate, termination resistance, cabling, device profiles and electronic device-description files.
Because the controller has no embedded local I/O, the complete TM3 expansion arrangement or distributed I/O architecture must be reviewed when preparing a replacement or quotation. The CPU alone may not represent the complete machine-control system.
Verify the full TM251MESC commercial reference before replacement. A shortened description such as M251 or TM251 is not sufficient to determine the required communication architecture.
TM251MESE is not an automatic replacement. It is designed around a dual-Ethernet architecture and does not provide the same embedded CANopen-master configuration as TM251MESC.
Before removing the installed controller, back up the EcoStruxure Machine Expert project, firmware version, libraries, Ethernet settings, CANopen configuration, serial parameters, TM3 expansion layout and SD-card contents.
For used or refurbished equipment, test the Ethernet interface, CANopen port, serial connection, USB programming port, SD-card slot, power terminals and communication stability under power.
TM251MESE is the related M251 controller designed for dual-Ethernet and Ethernet-centric distributed-machine architectures.
TM241CEC24T is a related Modicon M241 controller with embedded local I/O, Ethernet and CANopen-master functionality, but it uses a different hardware, I/O and project architecture.
Please provide the complete controller nameplate, 24 VDC power-supply information, Ethernet network diagram, CANopen node list, baud rate, serial communication settings and complete TM3 or distributed-I/O configuration.
Firmware, EcoStruxure Machine Expert project, libraries, TM4 modules, SD-card data, product condition, functional testing, regional availability and delivery time must be confirmed before quotation.
