Gefran ME2-6-M-B35D-1-4-D 2130X000X00, Gefran code F007783, is a combined melt pressure and temperature transmitter for high-temperature extrusion and polymer-processing equipment. The pressure section uses a mercury-filled hydraulic transmission system and produces a two-wire 4–20 mA output. The ME2 configuration also incorporates an isolated Type J thermocouple, allowing pressure and process temperature to be monitored from the same installation point.

Two Independent Measurement Channels

The pressure loop and thermocouple must be treated as separate signals. Connect the 4–20 mA circuit to a correctly powered analog current input and connect the Type J conductors to a compatible thermocouple input with the correct polarity and cold-junction compensation. A standard analog voltage input cannot directly interpret the thermocouple signal. Verify the exact six-pin wiring diagram before commissioning.

Installation and Signal Verification

Cool and depressurize the machine before removal. Confirm the mounting bore and thread, protect the diaphragm from mechanical contact and route the capillary without tight bends. At startup, verify that the pressure input is scaled from 0 to 350 bar and that the temperature channel is configured specifically for Type J. Check thermocouple polarity if temperature moves in the wrong direction during warm-up.
