The flexible section allows the electrical housing to be positioned away from the immediate process connection. This is useful on extrusion equipment where direct mounting would expose the housing to excessive radiant heat or create mechanical-clearance problems.

Capillary Routing Requirements

The flexible capillary must be routed without sharp bends, twisting, crushing or repeated movement. It should not support the electrical housing or be pulled during installation. The housing requires separate mechanical support where the machine arrangement does not provide a stable mounting position.

Confirm that the 6-inch stem reaches the required sensing location and that the 18-inch flexible length is sufficient to place the housing outside the highest-temperature zone. A longer capillary is not automatically better because excessive unsupported length can increase mechanical vulnerability.

Control-System Interface

This transducer requires a strain-gauge-compatible input. Verify bridge excitation, signal polarity, six-pin connector wiring, cable shielding and input sensitivity. A controller configured for a 4–20 mA transmitter cannot read this mV/V device directly without appropriate signal conditioning.

Check the complete 2130X000X00 suffix and F008650 rather than identifying the product only as M31. Accuracy class, connector type, thread, stem and flexible length are encoded parts of the ordered construction. Inspect the diaphragm and capillary for deformation before installation.
